New Bulldog Restaurant Location Coming to St Paul

New Bulldog St Paul Location, originally uploaded by edkohler.

Is St Paul gaining in coolness? Perhaps so, with the upcoming addition of a Bulldog restaurant in the Lowertown neighborhood off Mears Park.

Notice the signs in the window of the NW corner of 6th & Wacouta. COMING SOON: THE BULLDOG ST PAUL.

Today was the first time I’ve had a chance to explore Lowertown in years. Man, things are really getting nice down there. Lots of condo conversions, with new restaurants following the new residents into the neighborhood. While the early efforts to turn Lowertown into a bustling neighborhood (late 80’s – early 90’s) may have been a bit premature, it looks like things are really happening thing time.

  1. Lowertown became awesome when I moved there.

Actually, I hope that works out, but I can tell you that that’s not the first “Coming soon” sign I’ve seen in that window.

  3. Bulldog Lowertown is a sure thing! You can expect an opening sometime in the last week of Sept -first week of Oct. 40 tap beers, shuffel board, and of course vienna beef dogs and hamburgers, plus a few new menu items. Oh and lets not forget the tots!!!!

  4. At the Concrete and Grass festival, I ran into an employee of the Bulldog and he confirmed The Bulldog should be opening on or around October 1st. I imagine it’ll be a hopping place!! Just what the area needs, with all of the residents (like me) who live nearby. Can’t wait to visit The Bulldog!

  5. Just passed by there yesterday and the sign said “Counting Down: 3 days”, so my guess is Bulldog will be opening Wednesday, September 29th. It’s looking pretty much finished. The bar is in the center, there are booths on the west side, small shuffleboard table on the east side along the windows, and darts in the back. Can’t wait!

  6. Blew into Bulldog tonight for a Chicago dog. Tons of wait staff, to bad for us they did not wait on us. We had to beg for a cocktail, then a menu, then another cocktail…..I’d say DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME! And to top it off the hotdog was yuck.

  7. Popped into the bulldog last Friday. The place was rockin’ even for a holiday. Looks like the place has finally gotten its feet under it. We had to wait a bit for a table but everyone was helpful. Great beer selection and loved the chili dog. Had some “Brown Sugga” beer they had just put on, very cool. Exactly what we were looking for in the new bar in the area. Definately check it out!!!
