Interesting stuff still lying around today.
Here is a refreshing story about Minnesota’s 4-CD Rep., Betty McCollum, and the great work she’s doing for Laotian people. St. Paul has a large Hmong community, so this work is important to both her constituents and the world on humanitarian levels.
Congresswoman Betty McCollum visits Laos
“A four-year member of the U.S. House of Representatives International Relations Committee, McCollum secured $2.5 million from Congress to help with the removal of unexploded U.S. bombs in Laos. The U.S. now joins Europe, Japan and Australia to begin clearing bombs in three major field projects.”
That sounds like $2.5 million well spent to me.
