As you may have noticed, I post a list of product I recommend on this site in order to avoid redundant conversations about tech gadgets. I understand that stuff, but I’m not passionate about discussing it 24-7 when we could be talking about world peace or something.
One of the ways The Deets brings in a few bucks is through affiliate links. For those of you now familiar with the concept, affiliate links are links to online retailers who are willing to pay for leads. For The Deets, one of the top retailers is Amazon.com, who I tend to link to whenever I mention a retail product.
Amazon provides reports on what items were purchased through links from this site, and here is what I found for the first half of 2007:
Canon PowerShot SD800 IS
Garmin Edge 305HR
Apple 8 GB iPod Nano Black
Canon PowerShot A550 7.1MP Digital Camera
Belkin F5D8230-4 Wireless 802.11x Pre-N Router
iTouchless Stainless Steel Hands-Free Infrared Automatic Trash Can
Makita 6260DWPE 9.6-Volt Ni-Cad 3/8-Inch Cordless Drill/Driver Kit
Bodum Assam 4-Cup Tea Press
Planet Earth – The Complete BBC Series
Crank Bros Candy C ATB Pedals
What’s cool about this, from my perspective, is that you don’t have to take my word on the quality of the above product. Just take each other’s words for it.
My takes on the products above that I have experience with:
The Canon SD 800 IS is the camera I used for our Croatia trip. It’s awesome.
The 8GB Nano is the iPod I use because it can handle the beating I give better than hard drive based iPods.
I have the iTouchless trash can and have grown to love it because you never have to touch it to throw something away, but I wouldn’t recommend it for people who own dogs.
I have to Bodum Assam tea press and love that. It’s great for 2-3 cups of well steeped tea where you can watch it steeping.
I love Crank Bros bike pedals. If you’d considered going clipless, consider the Crank Bros brand of pedals. They have a lot of varieties for different types of riding, so do your research first.
