PETA Makes Idiotic Attack on Al Gore

PETA needs to think bigger. Why are they worried about the hundreds of animals Al Gore may eat over his lifetime rather than the millions of animals Gore could potentially save from extinction by curbing greenhouse gas emissions:

Activists take Al Gore to task on his diet

When he delivers a lecture on global warming in Denver next month, protesters will display billboards bearing a cartoon image of Mr Gore eating a drumstick and the message: “Too chicken to go vegetarian? Meat is the No 1 cause of global warming”.

The campaign is being organised by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) and is backed by other animal rights groups.

This may seem strange to PETA, but someone could be both an ally and omnivore. One example is omnivores who don’t buy fur coats or purses.

Pick better battles, PETA, and realize that the world isn’t as black & white as you’re pretending it is.

“An Inconvenient Truth” Gets Two Oscar Nominations

An Inconvenient Truth

It’s not clear whether the nominations for “An Inconvenient Truth” were due to Aaron Landry’s cameo appearance, or the new Oscar category for “Best use of Powerpoint in a Documentary.”

ABC News: Al Gore ‘Thrilled’ by Oscar Nominations

“Other films nominated for best documentary feature include “Deliver Us From Evil,” about the sexual abuse scandal in the Catholic Church; “Iraq in Fragments,” about the Sunni-Shiite conflict in that country; “Jesus Camp,” about a summer camp for evangelical Christians, and “My Country, My Country,” about the months leading up to the January 2005 elections in Iraq.”

I liked “An Inconvenient Truth” and “Jesus Camp” but haven’t seen the others. Are others worth checking out?
