The difference between a Sheraton and a Westin (both higher end Starwood
properties) is that you’d never see an unwrapped TP roll in a Westin room.
Consistently against torture.

Dear Edkohler, It is certainly our policy to have all toilet paper unwrapped in our guest rooms. Unfortunately it seems as though you were in one of our rooms on a guest room floor that will be shut down shortly for renovations. We are in the process of upgrading all of our guest rooms and the decision to leave an unwrapped roll of toilet paper in the guest room was a sustainable one rather than having to throw out all of the unused paper when we do renovations. Thank you for the picture though. We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel to enjoy our new guest rooms later this year. We’ll have the toilet paper all unwrapped for you then! Warm Regards, C. Fernets General Manager of the Sheraton Cavalier Calgary Hotel

Thanks for the explanation, C. Fenerts. I’ve enjoyed my stay. I’m currently enjoying a beer in your lobby bar.
