I’m closing in on the last few blocks of the Longfellow Community, this time with a bunch of North-South running streets from 36th to 32nd. The nice thing about moving East to West through the neighborhood is that the stretches of blocks get shorter as I get get closer to Hiawatha.
I headed south on 36th Ave S, and noticed The Craig Show’s caddyshack at 34th St.
That sits right across the street from Longfellow Park, which is greening up nicely for the summer (along with a few dandelions).
I couldn’t find any info online about Bethany Lutheran Church. It appears to be open and active. Anyone?
I’ve already ran 35th, so I headed back North on 34th past Christ Church Lutheran. This church’s building gets some ink for being designed by Eliel Saarinen.
Heading South on 33rd, I passed St. Albert the Great Church, which is fairly famous for its fish fry dinners.
At Lake Street, I passed the old Molly Quinn’s – but not the original Molly Quinn’s (where The Craftsman is today). I’d love to see someone figure out how to make use of this space.
Soderberg’s has been hooking people up with flowers since 1924. They’re always friendly to me.
33rd Ave S pops out to Minnehaha at the Rail Station. If you haven’t been in here in a while, give it another try. The food is pretty good, and they have something going on every night, such as trivia, meat raffles, and BARGO.
