Payphones are kind of like drinking fountains - you can never find one when you need one. Three years ago was was able to locate one in a Cub Foods in Bloomington and I used it to negotiate my first home purchase. I was bunking with a buddy of mine and he had not installed a phone in his new house yet, and I without a cell phone at that time had to hoof it to Cub whenever my realtor would page me with an update. The best part about this particular phone is that it only cost a quarter in 2005, which flies in the face of the typical $.50 phones that have been around for the better part of a decade.
